Kitchen Knives

An electric knife can save you a lot of time in the kitchen and quite a bit of strain on your hands if you’re carving up multiple loaves of bread or some big cuts of meat. Many of them can cost quite a bit of money but it seems as though the best electric carving knife is one of the least expensive.

The Toastmaster electric knife, according to internet reviewers is the best one available. It doesn’t get all 5 star reviews but it gets better reviews than knifes costing 5 times more. You can get it for around $15 from most internet retailers and I’ve even seen it marked down to below $8 from time to time.

It’s a great all around electric knife. It can handle large loaves of bread from bread machines just fine and will slice and dice pork shoulders and beef roasts.

An electric knife works by sliding two serrated blades back and forth in opposite directions. The blades move real fast so they can slice through most foods with ease. You’ll need to be careful around bones and ligaments though. Some knifes will get hung up on these because their motors aren’t powerful enough. The Toastmaster electric carving knife will do this, so if you need a knife to cut up a whole chicken or get through tougher food perhaps the toastmaster isn’t for you. You’ll need to look into the higher-end knifes.

Also, the toastmaster is not cordless so if you’ll be using your electric knife more often than most people do (Thanksgiving and Christmas) you may want to look into a cordless electric knife. The cordless variety are nice. You don’t have to worry about swinging the wrong way and cutting the power cord to the device. That could get nasty.

The Cuisinart electric knife is may be the way to go if you’re looking for something with a little more power. You’ll pay about $50 for one but they can handle a lot more than the cheaper models. The Cuisinart still has a cord though.

If you’re into cordless power try the Sonic Blade. You might have seen the infomercials for this one. Although the battery weighs the knife down a bit, the blades are strong and the motor is definitely powerful enough to carve up your feast. Many shoppers say this electric knife is the best since you can use it right at the kitchen table without any cords attached. You get the freshest cuts of meat available.

  1. You made some good points there. I did a exploration on the matter and found most people will concur with your blog.

  2. Digna Skewis says:

Aluminum is less expensive, does not distribute heat as well as the copper and can also transfer a metallic taste to you food. If you are going to purchase aluminum then make sure that you are getting anodized pans. This will help make them last longer and decrease the reactivity with your food. Cast iron skillets are wonderful for specialized cooking and searing the best steak you will ever have. They are slightly more expensive then aluminum and they need to be kept seasoned to prevent sticking.

  3. As a Newbie, I am always searching online for articles that can help me. Thank youWow!
